“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword,it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

– Hebrews 4:12

First, I want you to get in your mind that historically, in its context, the Bible is an unbelievable book. I think anyone could argue that it’s the most important piece of literature in human history. It is three thousand years old! It took a span of a thousand years, several authors, three continents, and three languages to put it together. Not to mention, God would appear to people in theophany, meaning that He would break the rules of physics and appear to people every century or so, and those things are accounted in the Bible too. God’s revelation through His Holy Spirit comes through so that mankind can have divine revelation; They can have true moral and spiritual knowledge. The Bible is the most important work of literature, even for an atheist, because it has influence. So we can all agree on that. But as believers, we know that this is even more than that. The Bible is God’s word to us: God’s promises, God’s songs, and God ’s stories that shape the way we think.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for your Word. The Bible teaches us how to live, how to love, but most importantly, how much you love us.

  1. Good morning Bobby: I love the way you explain things. I’m 80 years old, and I enjoy watching you and your wife every Sunday and Saturday, too.

Keep up the good work. You are “one in a million”.
