“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
-Proverbs 16:3
A study was conducted comparing the opinions of self-made millionaires with those of people of low economic status. These two opposites on the financial bell curve were asked, “What is the key to being very successful in life?”
The majority of the poorer people answered, “Education.” They believed it was education that led to a successful life. But, do you know what the wealthier people said? They said, “Hard work.” And although many of these wealthy people were educated, they viewed education as only one small part of a bigger work that they were doing.
That is so profound to me. The idea that hard work is the key to success, not education, not being born wealthy. Success comes to people that get up in the morning, that have a project or something they’re excited about, and they work hard at it.
Prayer: Dear Lord, if hard work is the key to success, in whatever I do, help me to focus my labor on accomplishing whatever it is you want me to do. Amen.
Reflection: How has hard work brought you success?
