“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.”
-Ephesians 3:16-17a

There is virtue in stability. It’s the idea that I’m not going to slink away, I’m not going to be afraid, I’m not going to hide, I’m not going to procrastinate, I’m going to face life head on. Why? Because I have the power within me to do so. Within me is the person of Jesus Christ and Jesus does not take a knee to cancer, to death, to illness, to suffering, to challenges. Christ within me endures and Christ within you endures.

Is there someone like that in your life? Maybe it was one of your parents, or an aunt, uncle, or grandparent, or a teacher, somebody that you always knew would be there for you. You knew that they’d have a word of wisdom, or a gentle hug, or just the right attitude, or the right healing presence.

You are that for others, as well. You may not know it, but you are someone that people can run to. You are a stable presence because Christ lives in you. If you believe it, take it and receive it.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for strengthening my inner being with your love. May I bless others as you have blessed me. Amen.
