Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble,  and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” -2 Peter 1:11-12

So often we think of heaven as the place I get to breathe underwater, fly, and eat cake all day — while not gaining weight. Heaven is more than that, it’s the ultimate result of belonging to God. Heaven is the source of all life in the universe. Heaven is the hope that when I die, I’ll be more alive than I am now. I will fully inherit my place with God and in his family. Isn’t that great news? You are loved. If you trust in God, you’ll live forever with him!

PRAYER: Thank you, God, for eternal life. Thank you for a beautiful place to belong in your family.

REFLECTION: What do you look forward to in heaven?
