“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
Recently I was in Yosemite, my favorite place on earth. I went there for a funeral. Because I love the place so much, I decided to go up a day early. I was hoping to spend some time writing and being otherwise productive in this inspiring location. I pictured myself sitting by a fireplace just typing away.
Can you guess how much work was accomplished? Zero. That’s because there were all the icy waterfalls, snow-covered forests, majestic rocks, and wildlife to see. It was amazing. It was a winter wonderland and I felt God calling out to me through his creation. In Yosemite, even though there were so few people around to see it, I could tell that the Lord was at work in this beautiful space.
Have you ever had a moment like this when, through God’s creation, you experienced his special touch? In this amazing place, felt enveloped in his love.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I feel your touch of love upon my life. Envelope me in your creation as I live in your kingdom on earth. Amen.
Reflection: Describe a time when you felt enveloped in God’s love through his creation.
