“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

– Matthew 7:13,14

The world we live in today was created by God and is God’s world. There are many things wrong with this fallen world, and it is filled with flaws and dangers. Despite that, this world is so rich with opportunities, doors, possibilities, and life! You and I can have access to all these things if we simply believe that they are available to us. Jesus encourages us to seize life and has provided us with the many tools we need to overcome, grow and flourish!

I am reminded of Matthew 16:24-25 “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.’ ” You  must consider that as you seize life, it is not just about having fun or accomplishing our own agenda. It’s also about becoming a better person. By doing so, you will let go of things that will lead to your destruction and embrace decisions that will lead to God’s best for you.

Friend, Jesus is saying that when you lay down your life, you can seize it. Another way to say it: Jesus said there are two paths. One path is really, really easy, but it leads to a dead kind of life. In contrast, there is another life, another road, hard, narrow, and difficult to tread, but it leads to real life! God is calling to you to partner with Him to enjoy this life that you were born for and that awaits you right now!!

Prayer

Jesus, provide me with the tools I need to grow, overcome, and flourish.
