 I want to share a life-changing idea with you today: How you do anything is how you do everything. Is this always true? No, but it is mostly true. While it may sound judgmental, that is not my intention at all. In fact, it’s the opposite. Our messiness, lack of care, and lack of excellence often stem from the belief that what we are doing doesn’t matter. We tend to think that unless we are getting paid for it, it doesn’t really hold significance. Similarly, if nobody is watching, it feels less important.
I believe that the idea that “it doesn’t really matter” stems from a deeper emotion of “I don’t really matter.” I have experienced this feeling before, and I’m sure each of us goes through low times when we may doubt our significance or wonder if our lives have made an impact. You may have even questioned the direction of your life or whether God loves and cares about your existence. These doubts can easily lead us to believe that our actions and our lives don’t truly matter. Friend, I want to challenge that false idea that comes from hell. Here’s the truth from heaven for you today: you are loved by God. The Gospel reveals how deeply God loves you. This is the perfect starting point when discussing the importance of doing everything with excellence, including the small, unseen acts that we can perform with power and goodness. Here’s why this matters: you are loved by God, so everything you do holds significance because it matters to Him—especially the little things. |
