Yesterday, we talked about expecting a miracle and why we have every reason to hold onto hopes and dreams, even in a world that seems to overflow with bad news. Since I believe that the human story is the greatest proof that God still does the impossible, I want to share with you about the journey of my friend Nick Vujicic. Many of you know of him already since he is one of the most prominent evangelists of our day and has preached on Hour of Power a couple of times. While his faith is larger than life, the incredible thing about Nick is that he was born without any arms or legs. While growing up, he really had no hopes or dreams for his future because he couldn’t do the things that most people could. In fact, at the age of 10, he wanted to commit suicide. Eventually, however, though he prayed for healing and asked that God would restore his limbs, he began to accept that this is how he is supposed to be, and he came to recognize that his disability gives him a unique opportunity to talk about his faith. Because he is not like everyone else, people pay attention. Miraculously, though he asked that Jesus would grant him the privilege of sharing the Gospel message with a million people, today, he’s preached to over 30 million worldwide! Even better, he’s been given a miracle of his own — a beautiful wife to partner with him in ministry and four healthy children. For His glory, our Heavenly Father took one who was considered “the least of these,” added His redeeming power, and did something more miraculous than anyone could ever have conceived of, including Nick himself.
My friend, I share this story with you as a reminder that no obstacle can limit the power of God. Regardless of how ordinary, broken, or challenged you feel, you serve the Living Lord, and He delights in displaying His glory through you. While the enemy of your soul seeks to steal your joy and eclipse your ability to comprehend how extraordinarily He is working in you, everything is possible when you believe! Because His Hand is on your life, you are more than a conqueror, and no dream, aspiration, or miracle is too big to see fulfilled. Build your faith, put your hope in His Word, and earnestly expect great things from your Savior, for He is the giver of every good and perfect gift!
