“Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”
– Ephesians 5:15-17
![]() Today, I am excited to continue talking to you about dreams and dreamers. If we want to achieve our dreams and live a great life, discipleship is the doorway through which we enter into the kind of life we’ve always dreamt of. It won’t be perfect and there will be suffering and challenges, but what God offers us through discipleship is a reward He calls eternal life. The mistake we make is to limit eternal life to just heaven. Eternal life is also the quality of God’s life now, in the present, and this includes our dreams. God is a dreaming God and He gives people dreams; it’s all throughout the Bible. As I referenced this week, there are people in your life who are “dream destroyers.” We don’t have to cut them out completely, but we can ignore them. I remember my mom, who is a dreamer, sharing a brilliant God-given idea at a family reunion. Unfortunately, there was one ill-tempered distant family member who looked at my mom and in a very condescending way and said, “Linda, you’re such a dreamer,” as if it was a bad thing. I was younger then, but I knew better! Luckily, my mom isn’t brought down easily by dream killers. Neither should you! Friend, let’s redeem the dream. It’s time to move forward and dream again. We must understand the God-given dream gives you a reason to build yourself, your life and the future. God has so much adventure, joy and fulfillment for you as you pursue the dreams that He has deposited in you! |
Prayer
Father, give me wisdom and faith to take risks. Help me to know I don’t have to be fearful because you are with me.
Reflection
How do you walk by faith? What is an area you desire to take risks in?
