“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”
– 1 Peter 1:6,7
![]() You’re probably closer than you think if only you knew where the end was! A canyon I love had a lake in the middle and was canopied with trees, but then California had a drought and the area dried up. Soon after, a wildfire destroyed it and I grieved the loss. However, that all changed recently due to the abundance of rain we had earlier this year. Now there’s a lake full of fish, trees flourishing, and birds everywhere. Similar to this canyon, it has been a tough ride for some of you and perhaps you’ve been burned plenty of times. Friend, fires are hard to experience, but life always comes back. When you are on your journey to experience God’s victorious promises, you are encouraged to rejoice greatly! In confidence, continue to pay the price, continue to work, and continue to pray. Your persistence will result in praise, glory and honor being directed to Jesus. |
Prayer
Father, strengthen me so that I can continue my journey.
Reflection
In what ways do you rejoice during your journey?
