“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God —  not by works, so that no one can boast.”

– Ephesians 2:8-9

God calls people to greatness all the time but it doesn’t mean that they’re not going to struggle. Just because God has called you to the Promised Land doesn’t mean you won’t come under attack. In fact, very often, the struggle and the journey of getting to the Promised Land is the thing that prepares you to inherit your calling. Even more importantly, just because you’re attacked doesn’t mean He isn’t with you. We can often feel that way. When we’re going through a trial, pain makes time feel so long, doesn’t it?It feels like the clock is ticking backwards. God wants you to know that whatever it is you’re going through, it’s not because of your sin or mistakes. He’s not cursing you; He’s not attacking you. He wants you to know that He is going to carry you through to victory — even when you mess up. It’s called grace — it’s the greatest gift we’ve ever been given — it’s the love from God, despite our flaws and our shortcomings.
