It’s Worth the Price

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”

– Matthew 13:44-46

The blessing of believing that God has set a path and a road for us was discussed yesterday. Over the next several days, I will share some obstacles that people face that stop them from embracing God’s path. The first challenge is: The road seems bigger than the prize. We may not be on the road we need to be on because it seems too huge to us. We feel that we don’t have the tools or mental capability to overcome the difficult places and obstacles that are sure to arise.

I would like to paraphrase the above scripture where Jesus shared about the prize! Imagine a man wandering about some land and seeing this piece of wood sticking out of the ground. It looked like a root at first so he decided to dig around it, and he found a treasure chest. He buries the box again as he realizes its immense value. He sells everything he has to buy the land, getting this great reward in return. To you it may seem too expensive but look at the prize. The prize is worth it.

Friend, I hope you agree with me, the price of your victory is worth it. You can say that your health, ministry, artwork or your finished book are worth it. Your dream is worth it, as are the people you lead. It’s exciting when you fall in love with your God-given dream — the narrow path you’re called to walk becomes a lot easier!

Father, make me realize that your guidance is greater than any obstacles I might face on the road ahead.

Do you agree that the price of your victory is worth it?
