Have you ever had a party thrown in your honor? Though some of us don’t like to be the center of attention, I’m certain that nearly all of us feel a deep sense of joy and gratitude when the people we love gather to celebrate us. Whether it’s a graduation, a birthday party, or a wedding, being blessed by our friends and family is a highlight of life. And while experiencing this joy on earth is a great gift, it can’t compare to the kind of party that the angels threw when our spirits were ushered into the Kingdom of God. The Bible says that each time a sinner repents and comes to Christ, all of Heaven rejoices, and that’s a big deal! While you might think that salvation is a rather routine occurrence “up there,” every soul that makes it safely home gives the celestial armies another reason to host a gala. In fact, I believe this amazing reality is evidence of the impact that just one follower of Jesus is poised to have on earth. All of us possess more power than we know, and with the Holy Spirit’s help, our influence can affect the eternal destinies of others. This is precisely why there’s a battle raging over our lives. We have divine authority to change the world, and the devil doesn’t want us to live in light of that truth. If he can keep us from understanding how empowering the perfect love of God is, he can disable our impact and keep us stuck. My friend, your salvation gave the hosts of Heaven a reason to throw a party, and that means your life is significant! The moment you received Jesus as your Lord, you became an heir to the lavish treasures bestowed upon the children of God, and now, your existence overflows with the fruit of His perfect love. Knowing this, there’s no limit to how He can use you to impact the world, and that’s why you’re a threat to Satan. Though he constantly tries to make you believe that you don’t matter, you keep the angels rejoicing, and your divine call has the potential to make an indelible difference on the earth! |
Prayer
Jesus, thank you for throwing a party when I surrendered my life to you. Help me to walk fully in the authority you’ve given me.
