“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
– John 14:27
![]() Death and aging are two fears that often cause us to check out from life. Can I prove this point to you? Imagine if you were granted a wish that gave you eternal life. You will never age or die, and the same is true for all the people you love. With this wish granted, how would you spend your money and your time? As a result, you would see many changes that illustrate what Christ wants to accomplish in your life. You would live your life not crippled by the fear of death, but driven by a greater mission and a broader purpose. This is apparent in John Chapter 14 as Jesus comforts His disciples and prepares them for the departure from His earthly mission. These young disciples have left everything to follow Jesus, but in the coming days will be confronted by a world that will try to kill and persecute them. Jesus comforts them and tells them to be at peace. Death, decay, aging, weakness, and illness are fears we all have to some extent. But you don’t have to let these fears drive you into mistakes and keep you from fulfilling all the things you want to do and who you want to be. Friend, in addition to the visible world, there is also a hidden and more powerfully spiritual world which oftentimes is difficult to define in our own language and minds. But it’s made available to those who believe. When we die, we will go to this place that Christ is preparing for us. Our death will be more like waking up than sleeping. We can be encouraged and at peace because Jesus has prepared Heaven for us! |
Prayer
Father, help me become all you want me to be.
Reflection
Have you been encouraged by the fact that Jesus has prepared a place for you in Heaven?

Please forward this message to Bobby Schuller.
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the truly scripture being sent in the past few weeks through FB. Lately, I notice a change from the previous ones to these sent recently and they align with the way Joel Osteen encourages us to embrace in our faith in our everyday journey. Your grandfather had this ability too (possibility thinking).
It has been an incredible experience to dive into the Word and discover passages that resonate so deeply with the positive and uplifting message Joel Osteen delivers. Through his teachings, I have found a renewed sense of hope, faith, and the strength to overcome challenges.
Each scripture encounter feels like a beacon of light with messages filled with encouragement and possibility thinking.
This newfound alignment between Joel Osteen’s teachings and the scriptures I am discovering has sparked a change and I am tuning in to your broadcast, reading your work. I truly miss your grandfather and the way he took scripture, applied to everyday living and showed how anything is possible.
So thank you for this positive shift.
Connie
