“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

Proverbs 4:25-27

You know we say that every week: I’m not what I do, I’m not what I have, I’m not what people say about me. And I believe you are learning to become the kind of person that really is letting those things go. It’s hard not to hold onto our reputation, money, our career, and all the things that we think matter to us. We just aren’t letting go of our past, or of our tomorrow. But, you are becoming the kind of person who is letting go of the many burdens that are pulling you down and keeping you from fulfilling what God has called you to do.

Help me let go, God. I don’t want to hold on to the things of this world. I will hold on to you, instead.

What do you need to let go of today?
