Keep the Promise Clear

“I rejoice in your promise like one who finds great spoil.”

– Psalms 119:162

Yesterday I shared the importance of writing down your God-given dreams, visions, goals, and ideas. You will gain a clearer vision of what you want and who you want to be as you write or record them. Yet, there is a cost associated with implementing what God has given you. Your daily discipline and the thoughts you think determine the price. That effort to grow has a real cost and price. Some people feel exhausted just thinking about it. Let me just say the price is easy if the reward is clear!

So keep the promise clear! You should keep your vision of who you want to become clear and work hard on yourself before working on anything else. Working on yourself more than being a parent will make you a fantastic parent. It is more important to work on yourself than to be a good spouse, and you will become a great spouse. You’ll make a fortune if you work harder on yourself than you do on your job. The art you make will be inspired if you work harder on yourself than on your art. The more you work on yourself, the easier your schoolwork will be. Who you become is the only thing you take to heaven. In the end, it’s all about who you become.

Friend, let us pray today: Lord, we give you our lives, our art, our families, and our pets. Everything we have — our dreams, our goals, our visions — we give to you. We thank you, Lord, and ask you in Jesus’ name to help us become the people we set out to be and to give us a clear vision of what we can become. Lord, we love you, and we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Father, help me to keep my vision of who I am to become clear in my mind.
