 I believe that letting go of what’s comfortable in life is one of the first steps towards achieving new and better opportunities for yourself. We’ve all heard this story: The girl who isn’t happy with the guy she’s been dating for years. She longs to meet a really good guy, but stays in the relationship because she’s worried that if she breaks up with him, she’ll be lonely for life and never get married.
Alternatively, maybe it’s a guy whose girlfriend is toxic, but he doesn’t know how to leave the relationship. The beauty of life is that someone with an encouraging word comes along and tells them the right guy or girl is out there waiting for them to break up with the wrong person. When it comes to cutting those relationships, it can be scary. Oftentimes, people find it hard to ask for help. When it comes down to it, we must push through to victory if we want to improve. Friend, I know this is a tough pill to swallow, but sometimes you have to turn your back on what makes you comfortable. Is getting well important to you? Then I encourage you to turn away from the thing that is making you sick. Are you interested in growing as a person? You’ll have to turn your back on the thing that makes you average. Would you like to grow in your life pursuits? You have to abandon what you are comfortable with. As you trust in the Lord, he will grant you the power and strength to overcome everything in your way that is easy or convenient. |

Father, help me let go of the things that are convenient, but hinder my growth.
