“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” -Hebrews 11:1
Recently, we had the pleasure having Tony Campolo preach at Shepherd’s Grove. He is a professor at Eastern University, author of more than 35 books, and one of the founders of the Red Letter Christian movement. He blogs regularly at his website redletterchristians.org.
What’s the kingdom of God like? It’s like a wedding feast or gigantic party. God is at work in the world — overcoming the darkness. Nothing can stop God from creating his kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. In the gospels, Jesus came to declare that the kingdom of God is at hand. The kingdom of God is among us and the kingdom of God is in us. The kingdom of God is in us. He’s filling people with his spirit and giving them the power become the sons and the daughters of God — who will change the world from what it is into what God wants it to be. God wants his kingdom to be a party; let us celebrate!

PRAYER: Dear God, thank you for your kingdom. Thank you for the party you’ve created. Help us bring the good news and joy to our communities.
REFLECTION: Do you feel the power that God has given you to change the world? You can contribute to the party!
