Life is a Journey, Not a Destination

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

– Galatians 6:9

God cares more about who you’re becoming than where you’re going. Take a minute to let that sink in and then meditate on it for the next few hours or even the next few days. Remember it when you’re frustrated because you haven’t gotten to where you think you should be or you find yourself feeling wistful because your progress hasn’t met with the expectations you fashioned for yourself. Never forget that life is a journey and though milestones are important, they are better appreciated in hindsight and retrospect. You may be in the middle of a breakthrough right now yet unable to see or appreciate it because of the pain you are enduring. My advice to you is to keep pressing on and remember that your fire is becoming a crucible. Though it is hot and maybe even scorching, it is purifying the gold in your soul so that only the very best remains to reflect the glory and goodness of your Savior.

My friend, Jesus cares more about your character than your success, and He is never in a hurry! He is a God of process and He invites you to follow the rough and rocky road as He holds your hand and teaches you that your sufficiency is in Him alone. Please do not become weary in well-doing, for your Lord is with you, tenderly leading and guiding you through every fiery trial as He refines your heart and mind so they reflect His values and priorities. Through it all, He is filling you with His power, passion, and purpose so that you can impart His abundant life to others.

Prayer

Jesus, I surrender myself completely to you; thank you for using my journey to refine me.
