Live Life Extraordinarily

“But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.”

– 1 Corinthians 1:27

God is not looking for remarkable people, but simply for those who are willing to surrender so He can do extraordinary things through them. While it’s difficult to fathom that the Creator of the Universe wants to use us to accomplish great and powerful feats for His Kingdom, it’s a fact! The Lord delights in employing the foolish and weak things of the world to confound the wise, and no matter how unqualified or ill-equipped we feel, if He calls us to do it, He will see us through it. I think about Moses, who was full of excuses when God chose him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. He swore that he wasn’t eloquent enough, but his Heavenly Father promised to give him the words to say. Then there was Sarah, who laughed when the Lord told her that she would bear a child in her old age, but the joke was on her when she conceived at ninety. Though the list could go on and on, the point is that taking the path of least resistance is natural when God calls us to do something unnatural. Yet thankfully, while the world says that we have to be capable, skilled, and qualified to step into a position, Jesus simply asks us to have faith that’s surrendered to His authority.

My friend, you are extraordinarily significant, and you can embrace the life-giving truth that your Savior wants to use you to do supernatural things. When you’re weak, He is strong, so you can expect Him to meet you with courage, power, and skill at just the time you most need them. Though excuses come easy, choose to be emboldened in trust, and assume a state of heart that’s completely surrendered to His greater plan. Before the foundation of the world, He chose you to be a vessel of His glory, and He can do mind-blowing things through your faith in His all-surpassing sufficiency.

Prayer

Jesus, thank you for handpicking me to do great things.
