Looking for a Great Life

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”

– Matthew 13:45,46

In yesterday’s message, I encouraged you to follow the narrow path that leads to life, even if you have already had many successes. In spite of success in the past, you go down the narrow road because you must become all you were created to be. For those of you who are concerned about taking the risk of losing your good life to get a really wonderful life, I have a question for you: When was the last time you felt truly alive?

There are some of you who say you feel really alive right now, and that’s great. However, some of you may have noticed it has been a while. Being a good man, a responsible woman, and a faithful person is something you are proud of. But, how long has it been since you felt truly alive? If I had to guess, the last time you felt alive was likely when you were building or creating something. Maybe it was when you were writing, trying to become a better person, reaching out to others or making a positive impact! You weren’t looking for a safe life, you were looking for a great life! Rather than seeking an easy path, you sought the pearl of great value.

Friend, as you feel your calling, don’t ignore it! It’s easy to rest a little longer than necessary when you are doing well in life. Cobwebs and rust start to form in the joints. The easy thing to say is that I’ll start tomorrow, next week, or once the economy improves. The Lord encourages you to spend your time creating, growing, expanding, and pursuing a life that is truly great!

My Lord, help me to follow my calling and create a life that is truly fulfilling.

Is the Lord encouraging you to create, grow and expand?
