“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.”

– Proverbs 3:3

Yesterday I introduced the heavenly treasure of having favor, or “goodwill” with God and man. I am thankful for the treasure of second chances that we can store in Heaven! In the Bible, there are many examples of people who were victorious in second chances, such as David, Abraham, Joseph, Ruth, and Esther. Love and faithfulness are two additional treasures that precede favor in Proverbs 3:3 “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; Bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.” You will then win favor with God and man!

This is what love is: Real Service — an impact on others for their benefit along with true acts of generosity and service. If you lack generosity, you probably don’t have much love, which is something we can all work on. The Bible tells us that if you don’t give away 10% of your money, you are robbing God and won’t receive financial blessings. So donate 10% of your money to your church, neighbors, people in need, or your favorite charity. When you do not have a lot, give anyway because it will come back to you. The irony is that unless you open your hand to give, you also won’t open your hand to receive.

Friend, in addition to your 10%, it is also faithfulness to love and serve others, and to give of your time. When you are faithful, people can count on you. It means that you serve day after day and year after year. The more love and faithfulness we add to our heavenly treasures, the more we will become a reflection of Jesus, and the more people can count on us for these characteristics!

Father, assist me in becoming more loving and faithful to others.

In what ways do you give of your money, time, and love to others? In these actions, are you faithful?
