Make Christ Part of Every Moment

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

– Colossians 2:6,7

In today’s passage, Paul writes in the Book of Colossians to followers who are dealing with an influx of different spiritual people who on the outside seem good, but on the inside are trying to invalidate the Gospel that Paul preached.

In Colossians, Chapter Two, Paul says, “So then just as you received Jesus Christ as Lord, continue to live your lives in him.” This means that in every moment, Christ is a part of it. When you wake up, and go to sleep, Christ is at the center of all you do. God’s love, grace, and accomplishment on the cross, and resurrection — that is the core of your life. And it’s not just the foundation of what you think of as your religious life, but it includes the core of your business and social life. This includes your daily actions, what you watch on TV, and the music you listen to. Is Christ at the center of everything you do? Your value in life is not based on what people say about you, it’s based on what God says about you. Christ died for you, so you could be made holy and a special treasure in God’s eyes.

Friend, think about those words “rooted and built up.” There’s this strength that comes as we are “…strengthened in faith as you were taught and overflowing with thankfulness.” I love thankful people, don’t you? It’s really hard to be unhappy and thankful at the same time. It’s amazing how much science and wisdom there is that supports the idea of a grateful life that leads to happiness.

Father, help me to continue to live my life in Christ. Help me to keep Christ at the center of all I do!

Are you overflowing with thankfulness?” What does God say about you?

  1. Dear PASTOR Bobby and lovely Hannah,
I thank you that you consider me as a member in your congregation. I am humbled and will put all my effort not to disappoint you. Today I was reading a lot, so my eyes are tired . Besides . I need to get used to much smaller letters, because I asked my son to
take away a much bigger monitor.
Let me wish you a sound and peaceful night.
    Lovingly, Mrs.Emma I. Levicky.
