“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
– Matthew 6:33
![]() Did you know there is no such thing as a neutral mind? Your mind is the control center for your life and your thinking patterns become your habits and your habits crystalize into circumstances. This is why it’s imperative that you focus on what you’re thinking about. When Jesus says to “seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness,” He is giving a very clear directive that helps us to establish priorities in our thinking. Though we often see the devil portrayed in images of demonic possession and animal sacrifices, his work in our lives is actually much more sinister. Jesus broke the bondage of demonic powers and their physical control over your life 2,000 years ago. So today, rather than being blatant, he attacks the mind. Jesus said to seek Him first, but Satan’s primary aim is to get you to seek everything else first and leave the Spiritual stuff for later. Though it seems innocent, this simple mistake in your thinking can cost you your health, happiness, peace, and the abundant life Jesus died to give you. Friend, the reality God invites you into is sufficiency in putting Him first. That means making Him your highest consideration, even before your finances, your family, or your friendships. Yes, those things are all important, but their true purpose can only be experienced through the lens of daily friendship with Jesus. When your eyes look to Him first in everything, a whole universe of resources, power, and goodness is made available to you. Though the enemy will constantly seek to rob you by tilting your life and attempting to get your priorities out of balance, you can take authority and stay focused on the One who sets them in order and makes them all matter! Isn’t that fantastic news? |
