“Moses said to Pharaoh, ‘I leave to you the honor of setting the time for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that remain in the Nile.’ ‘Tomorrow,’ Pharaoh said.”

– Exodus 8:9,10

There is an interesting twist involving the prophet Moses as he confronts Pharaoh to release God’s people for worship. God allowed the second of the ten plagues in the land of Egypt to bring forth frogs. Moses is then summoned by Pharaoh, who says, Moses, I give up. Here’s the deal: you go tell your God to remove the frogs, and I will release your people. We can all move on and be done with this. Moses replies, Praise the Lord! I’ll tell Him right away. You’ll let His people go, and there will be no more curses.

Can you believe that Pharaoh interrupts by saying, wait, wait, wait! This is what the Bible says: Not right now, do it tomorrow. Consider this: A single decision can have significant consequences. Pharaoh knew what the right choice was, but hesitated and said, tell God to remove the curses tomorrow, not today” Reflect on how that choice ultimately led to death. This highlights a troubling mindset in our generation: procrastination. It’s the mentality of “tomorrow” or “I’ll get to it later.”

Friend, face your fears today—this will allow you to be blessed tomorrow! There will always be thoughts telling you, “I’ll start, just not yet.” This mindset can lead to stagnation. It may sound harsh, but deciding not to follow God’s will, especially in significant aspects of life, can lead to spiritual decline. Just as Pharaoh faced dire consequences, procrastinating can harm your soul. Don’t let that happen; ask God for help and the strength to move forward today!

Prayer

Father, I seek your help and strength not to procrastinate and move forward today!

In which areas would you like to eliminate the “I’ll get to it later” mentality?
