Nobility Is in the Blood of Jesus

“God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.”

– 2 Timothy 6:15,16

Lately, there’s been a lot of news about the royal family, and though Britain’s monarchy seems archaic to some, the mystique that surrounds it is endearing to millions. Something about the idea of being born a prince or princess — living in luxury, high above the rest — is alluring. Yet interestingly, when we look at history, we can trace the origins of most of the royals in Northern Europe back to barbaric civilizations like the Franks. Though there’s been a lot of “cleaning up” of the lineage through the years, the truth remains that the tribe that gave rise to many of the so-called “blue bloods” of the world were more like a fifth-century biker gang. They were tattooed, brutal, uncouth and just as common as they could be. How ironic, then, that they are the fathers of those who are considered the world’s most refined. You see, at the end of the day, we all bleed red, and this understanding is a foundational principle in the Kingdom of God. Having influence begins at the point of knowing that we are equal in the King’s eyes and that His blood is the only way to gain true authority. However, His lineage can’t be claimed by birthright or heritage — it’s received only as a gift that comes through faith in Jesus Christ.

My friend, you are a child of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! In your salvation, you received an inheritance that is far greater than the best this world has to offer, and while its fullness is awaiting you in Heaven, its treasure can be yours today. As you lay down your own interests and choose to serve others, the Kingdom of God is revealed in your midst and your influence is elevated by His hand. Though you may not live in a castle or wear a crown, because the Lord of the Universe is your Father, you are richer in peace, joy, and spiritual prosperity than the wealthiest and most lavishly-adorned royal in the worldly realm.

Prayer

Jesus, thank you for giving me your lineage and for granting me an imperishable and incomprehensibly glorious spiritual inheritance.
