Nothing is Impossible for You

“The Lord said, ‘If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.’ ”

– Genesis 11:6

People have been obsessed with the story of the Tower of Babel, and I think it’s because there are many interesting aspects to this Bible lesson. I think one of the most fascinating things from this ancient account is when God proclaims, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.” Did you know that Jesus repeated this phrase? In Mark chapter nine, Jesus states, “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

After the great flood, Noah’s children and generations thereafter became evil, but because they had one language, they created a unified, yet flawed plan to reach God. They decide to build a tower for themselves in Babylon. And because of this unified language, they could mobilize to build this tower in such a significant way. However, God had to rescript their direction because their hearts had become too evil. He changed their plans by creating multiple languages that resulted in them being unable to communicate with one another. As a result, they had to abandon the completion of their plan.

Friend, when the language of the Holy Spirit was given in Acts chapter two, God inverts the story. Instead of breaking them all up into different languages and splitting them up as He did at Babel, He brings them together under the one language of Heaven. It’s a sign because now that they’re full of God’s spirit, nothing will be impossible for them. Nothing is impossible for you if you’re full of the Spirit of God. Nothing is impossible for those who believe and trust in the Lord Jesus.

Prayer

Father, I thank you for filling me with your Holy Spirit. Help me to speak the language of Heaven.

  1. The statement, “Everything is possible, because you believe.”, has not proven true time and again. My dear friend and family who live their life as Christians, express their faith in God and Jesus. I have not witnessed any stronger.
He got cancer. Prayers by them and all who love them prayed regularly for healing to no avail. He passed yesterday. He suffered through treatments with the best western medicine, alternative, functional medicine. In fact his son is an M.D. and practices functional medicine as compliment to western. Many doctors and treatments were involved.
Will you address this, Pastor Bobby? Thank you, Dianna
