One Ounce of Discipline

“Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.”

– Proverbs 10:17

There is a third faith seed that I would like to share with you today! Seed number three — recognize the law of two pains. According to American author and entrepreneur Jim Rohn, “We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.” We have all experienced both in our lives, and regret is by far the most painful.

It would be better if you said it according to the old: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We can say that one ounce of discipline can wipe out a pound of regret if you do it right. You don’t have to be a vicious ninja or a fierce samurai warrior to succeed. Having discipline does not mean that you have to be a superpower with exceptional willpower, drive, and the ability to manipulate others in a forceful manner. You simply need to add more rhythms to your life and you will notice a difference!

Friend, God can bless your life to be influenced by rhythms that make you move in the direction you desire. Each day, you have multiple blocks of 30 to 60 minutes. Spend 20-30 minutes a day in casual lighthearted fun conversations to make a big difference in your marriage. You can become like the top 1% of athletes by exercising four days a week, 30 to 60 minutes a day. It takes about 30 to 60 minutes a day of Bible reading and prayer to have your life ignited with the Holy Spirit and spiritual power! Isn’t it amazing that you don’t need great feats of triumph and willpower? You simply need to ask the Holy Spirit to help you do these things!

Father, help me recalibrate my rhythms to bring discipline into my life.

  1. Hi Church services
Why is there no live streaming for this week. And why has the choir changed. I have been involved with the church since 1980,have seen many changes and would like to know about the changes and ministry as a whole.
    Greatly appreciated, Tom Angeli
