Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 3:12

Today, I want to talk about the importance of being at peace with your imperfections. We need to realize that we don’t have to prove ourselves. Instead, we should walk humbly before the Lord. Let us desire a life that pleases God rather than worrying about pleasing other people. Christians should serve others and should love others, but people-pleasing is death. When we’ve been Christians for a while, it’s so easy to think that we have to manage our reputation.  Today the word from the Lord is that you can let that go. Maybe you’re spending way too much energy and worry trying to manage what people think about you. I want to encourage you to be at peace with your imperfections, to show those imperfections, and to be vulnerable to people who love you. Then watch as people show you how terrific a person you are.

Prayer

God, put me at peace with my imperfections. Give me the strength to be vulnerable with the people that love me.

How can you let go of people-pleasing?
