“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Let’s talk about putting a life of gratitude into practice. Not having an attitude of gratitude, but having a practice of gratitude. This includes thanking people and feeling thankful in the life you live. The easiest way to become a joyful person is to be grateful. If you think about it, have you ever met a grateful person that wasn’t happy, also? Gratitude and joy are almost synonymous. Do you want a happier life? Slow down and be grateful for the many joys and good things that are in your life. You are a grateful person; you are the type of person who is now opening your heart to the many gifts that God has already given you. Friedrich Nietzsche, a German philosopher, said that the human being is someone who can get used to anything. Sometimes we can get used to the many wonderful things in our life. It’s time to get unused to the good things in our life, to slow down, and to say, God, thank you. Thank you for the tremendous gifts that you’ve given me. I’m so grateful for them.
PRAYER: Thank you, God, for all the wonderful blessings and people in my life. Help me to practice gratitude in my daily life.
REFLECTION: What are you thankful for today?
