“Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”
– Mark 4:8
During my time at Oral Roberts University, Oral Roberts shared an important lesson: “If you have a need, plant a seed.” You can’t simply approach a patch of dirt and demand, “I need, I need, I need.” How does the dirt respond? It tells you to plant some seeds. Therefore, it’s essential to invest time in nurturing your relationships because they require ongoing care and attention. A father cannot believe that he can neglect his daughter for 17 years, focusing solely on work, and then suddenly decide to quit his job and spend an entire year with her, expecting everything to be fine. This approach would likely lead to disaster for both of them! Friend, if a person visits the doctor and learns they need to get healthier and lose weight but instead of making changes, they decide to eat fast food, then fast for a month at the end of the year, that approach is unrealistic. True health comes from consistent effort, whether in your health or relationships. I encourage you to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit on how, when, and where to sow properly in your life to reap God’s bountiful goodness! |
Prayer
Holy Spirit, guide me on how, when, and where to sow properly in my life to reap God’s bountiful goodness!
Reflection
Do you ever imagine reaping 30, 60, or even 100 times what you sow?
