Relationship is Better Than Religion

“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

– Galatians 3:28

The greatest thing about the cross is that it equalizes people. No matter who you are, everyone needs a Savior because we have all missed the mark and fallen short of the glory of God. The miracle of Jesus coming to earth as a man is that He made the Lord’s fullness accessible to human beings without having to partake in rituals or ceremonies. He took the focus off of religion and put it on relationship.

First-century Christians and Jews were experiencing a bit of a crisis of faith after the temple was destroyed. Since they were so accustomed to going to a particular place to find God, pray, and dwell with His Spirit, they felt lost. What they didn’t realize was that in their conversion and baptism into Christ, a new temple was constructed — their souls. The Lord didn’t leave His children without a home, He built it within them. Everyone was now the same because of the cross and resurrection of Jesus!

Friend, you don’t have to travel to a holy mountain to find God, nor do you need to darken the door of a church — the Spirit of the Lord is already within you! As a disciple of Jesus, you are a moving temple that carries the life and presence of God around in your flesh! This is why it’s important to honor and love the body that you have; it doesn’t belong to you alone, but also to Him! He abides with you and wants to have a close and constant relationship as He feeds and blesses your mind, body, and spirit.

Prayer

Jesus, help me to receive your fullness in my flesh and to walk in constant and abiding relationship with you.
