“Jesus asked the boy’s father, ‘How long has he been like this?’ ‘From childhood,’ he answered. ‘It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.’ ‘If you can’?’ said Jesus. ‘Everything is possible for one who believes.’ Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!'”
– Mark 9:21-24
![]() Are you fully convinced that anything is possible if you believe? I am! Here’s the crux of why I can say with assurance that I am confident in the Word of God: faith is not a feeling or an idea. At heart, faith is an action that is proven by what you do. Nothing is impossible for the person who chooses to act on their faith and let go of fear! You see, faith is a gift from God and He doesn’t withhold it from any of His children. Everyone who has called Him Lord has faith because He has deposited it in their hearts; it took faith to call out to Him for salvation. However, it’s what you do with the faith He has given to you that determines the course of your life and your impact in His Kingdom. Remember, faith is released, not owned; it is not given to you to hold on to or to keep under lock and key. Oral Roberts used to tell that people constantly approached him and said, “Brother Roberts, I have lots of faith,” to which he would say in reply, “I don’t care if you have faith, I want to know if you release your faith?” You see, faith is yours in Christ Jesus, but it’s not something to be possessed, it’s something to be released — only by setting it free can its power be fully manifest. Friend, it’s not how much faith you have that makes your life powerful, it’s the actions you take because of that faith. You are far more brave, courageous, and powerful than you know and you have a lot of life and hope to give to the world in the Name of Jesus. Fear is the only thing that stands in the way of your doing something magnificent in the Kingdom of God, so release your faith through action and watch as things begin to change. You are an ambassador of the Creator of the Universe and He wants to reveal Himself to the world through your life! Isn’t that an amazing thought? |
Prayer
I am thankful, Jesus, that you have deposited faith in my heart; help me to release it so that you can work through me to do what is impossible.
Reflection
How do you release your faith? What have you seen God do as a result?
