“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” -Romans 5:8

It’s so important to be at peace with your imperfections — you do not have to prove yourself to others. Instead, you can walk humbly before the Lord, which is truly desiring to live a life that pleases God instead of needing to constantly please others. Christians should serve others, should love others, and allow God to do all the sorting. You don’t have to sort anything; people pleasing is death, especially for religious people. That it’s easy for us — when we’ve been Christians for a while — to feel like we have to keep our reputation managed. Today, the word from the Lord says that you can let that go. Maybe you’re spending way too much energy trying to manage what people think about you. Today, I want to encourage you to be at peace with your imperfections, to be vulnerable, and to show those imperfections — not to the whole world — but to people who love you. Then watch as people show you how terrific a person you are.

PRAYER: Thank you, God, for redeeming our imperfections.

REFLECTION: How can you embrace your imperfections?
