At Shepherd’s Grove and Hour of Power, we strive to share God’s love and dignity with the people in the 15 feet of space around us. We’re excited for the opportunity to donate our campus on Sunday, August 5th from 4-7 pm, for ROCK4CHOC, a concert to benefit Children’s Hospital of Orange County. CHOC Children’s does incredible work for kids and families dealing with health crises. Every year, they host the CHOC Walk in the Park — a fundraiser walk held at Disneyland that brings in people from all over the country to raise money for these families. Many walkers have children, friends, or family members that have been or are currently treated by CHOC, while some walk in honor of someone who has passed away. Teams are compromised of many people from Orange County, including Team DAPS Magic, which has a number of Hour of Power staff that participate.
Last year was the first ever ROCK4CHOC, and over $5,000 was raised and all proceeds went directly to fundraising for CHOC. It was held at our old campus in Garden Grove, and it was a wonderful evening of music, fun, and most importantly, community. With our new church home, we can reach a larger community of people who may not know CHOC, and may not know Hour of Power. We can have a great and positive influence in the lives of many through the outreach of this event, while being active and compassionate members of our local community.
This year for ROCK4CHOC, we’re bringing back some of the favorite festivities as last year: live music and a silent auction and an appearance by the ever popular Pizza Planet Truck. The concert portion will feature performances by music guests Hooray For Our Side and WestBeat Sings. We’re excited for the addition of a larger 501st Legion and the Rebel Legion, composed of many Star Wars characters from both the light and dark side, as well as the Irvine Police Department! It will be a memorable evening for families to enjoy while we support other families in the 15 feet around us.

Tickets can be purchased at www.rock4choc.org for a suggestion donation of $10 each. Children 5 and under are free! 100% of the proceeds will go to CHOC Children’s.
