“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
-1 John 4:8
The soul is fragile. It needs to be handled carefully.
The strong people in your life are not as strong as you think they are. They need you. They need grace. They need kindness. Yet, we lack the power to be kind to them unless we first are rooted in God’s love.
So, it all comes back to that, doesn’t it? You’re not what you do. You’re not what you have. You’re not what people say about you. You are a beloved child of God. He loves you right now.
We have to live there. We have to live in grace before we can live in holiness. It’s not the other way around.
Prayer: Dear Lord, in everything I do, may the roots of my soul grow deeper in you. May the nourishing love you provide grow through me into the lives of others. Amen.
Reflection: How does God’s love nourish your soul?
