I believe that this life that we’re living is very much like the Super Bowl, only it’s a Super Bowl that everybody gets to participate in. And when you’re done playing, the game keeps going and you go into the stands to root for those who are still playing.

I believe that there are family members that we have never met who are watching us live our lives and rooting for us. They’re saying, “Go John, go Lisa, you can do this! You can live a life that matters for eternity! We’re watching you, we’re rooting you on, we’re praying you, we believe in you.”

I believe my family members are doing that, and someday when I go to be with Jesus, I’m going to be rooting on my children, and my grandchildren, and I’m going to watch them as they flourish in their lives.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for this time on earth, living flourishing lives surrounded by your creation and the people we love. Thank you that this is not the end, but only a part of an eternity spent with you. Amen.
