Here is one of my ideas on reclaiming your time and protecting what matters most. Don’t let small things steal big opportunities from you. It’s an easy trap to fall into — we all do it, more than we realize. A woman I know was overjoyed at the thought of helping her daughter get ready on her wedding day. She had dreamed of that quiet, sacred moment for years: helping her into her dress, fixing her hair, sharing a hug and a prayer before she walked down the aisle. Then came the distraction. An older woman from the groom’s side — someone she barely knew — asked her for a ride to get her hair done before the ceremony. She said yes, not wanting to seem unkind. One small favor turned into delay after delay, and by the time it was over, the moment with her daughter was gone. Just like that. My friend, we all feel that, don’t we? It wasn’t a bad intention — just a small, seemingly harmless yes to someone who barely knew her name. But that one yes, cost her something irreplaceable. In trying to help a near-stranger, she couldn’t show up for the person who needed her most, in a moment she can never get back. Don’t let small things steal big opportunities from you. |
Prayer
Father, guard my heart and my time. Help me say yes to what truly matters, and no to what pulls me away from it. Don’t let small distractions cost me the moments I can never get back.
