Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” -Philippians 4:8

Ask yourself this: If I were asked to draw a picture, how would I draw my life? If I were given an eight-and-a-half-by-eleven white sheet of paper, and a blue marker, what would my life look like? Each of us would draw many different things. Some of those things for us would be very, very dark and very, very ugly, and for others of us those would be happy things and very good things.

My assertion is that every single person suffers and every single person is blessed. And although all of us have a little bit of both, we have the ability to choose what it will be that we will focus on.

You can’t help what you see, but you can help what you focus on, and what you focus on will greatly affect the way you live and experience your life. There’s good in the world and there’s bad in the world. I know it to be true. But if you focus on the good, you focus on the light, and your whole body will be filled with light.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, I have suffered, but overall I am so blessed by you. May I continue to focus on the blessings, on the good, and on all things filled with your light and love. Amen.
