“Jesus asked the boy’s father, ‘How long has he been like this?’ ‘From childhood,’ he answered. ‘It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.’ ‘If you can’?’ said Jesus. ‘Everything is possible for one who believes.’ Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’”
– Mark 9:21-24
![]() Are you completely certain that if you believe, anything is possible? I am! Faith is neither a feeling or an idea, which is why I can state with certainty that I am confident in God’s Word. Faith is, at its core, an action that is demonstrated by your actions. For someone who chooses to act on their faith and let go of fear, nothing is impossible! You know, faith is a gift from God, and He gives it to everyone of His children equally. Everyone who has called Him Lord has faith because He has placed faith in their hearts; calling out to Him for salvation required faith. The trajectory of your life and your impact in His Kingdom, however, is determined by what you do with the faith He has given you. Remember, faith is released, not owned; it is not given to you to hold on to or to keep under lock and key. People would often approach Oral Roberts and say, “Brother Roberts, I have a lot of faith,” to which he would respond, “I don’t care if you have faith; I want to know if you release your faith?” You see, faith is yours in Christ Jesus, but it’s not something you can possess; it has to be released, and only then can its full power be realized. It’s not how much faith you have, friend, that makes your life powerful; it’s the acts you take as a result of that faith, no matter how much or little you have. You are far more bold, strong, and powerful than you realize, and in the Name of Jesus, you have so much life and hope to give to the world. Fear is the one thing that stands in the way of you doing something wonderful in God’s Kingdom, so put your faith into action today and see how things change. You are a representative of the Universe’s Creator, and He wants to show Himself to the world through your life! Isn’t that a wonderful thought? |
Prayer
Jesus, I am grateful for the faith you have placed in my heart; please enable me to release it into the world so that you might use it to do what is impossible for me.
Reflection
How do you let go of your faith? As a result, what have you seen God do?
