“But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.”

– Luke 22:26-27

It is possible to serve others for a greater purpose and goal! I mentioned Chick-fil-A yesterday and their consistency in service. I also thought about Bill Gates, Microsoft’s co-founder, and about the computer’s worldwide impact. In the workplace or at home, almost everyone has a computer, thanks to him. Technology has its challenges, but computers have made the world a better place. Your food is fresher, your car runs better, and tickets are now even available online. As a result of his service, Bill Gates has improved our lives and significantly impacted the business world!

How can you serve? In marriage, two people who serve one another make up a great marriage. Do you want to be part of a great team? The definition of a great team is a group of people who serve one another and serve a greater goal. Do you envision a great nation? It is made up of people who want to serve their country, each other, and their neighbors.

Friend, serving others is truly the nectar of life. Many people believe the purpose of life is to relax, have fun, or take a break. But the God-given goal of life is to make a positive impact on the world. Life is truly about having a service that you can offer the world, that you enjoy, and that has a big impact on people. The feeling that your service is making a difference in your family, country, or world motivates you to get up in the morning and do it all over again!

Prayer

Father, help me know how I can make a greater impact on this world.
