“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”
– Mark 11:22,23
![]() Today, we’re going to talk about trusting in the Lord and what it means to step out in faith. Faith is actually pretty simple — it just means trust. That’s all it is, even though we try and make it complicated and mystic. Faith is trusting that the Lord is good, and that He’s going to do what He says He will do. I think the number one thing that the enemy wants you to think when God asks you to do something is that it’s impossible. I believe he wants to fill your heart with shame and constantly point out your past to distract you and keep you from fulfilling Jesus’ call on your life. However, the devil is a defeated foe — you can trust the Lord fully and approach His throne boldly! You see, God’s not going to keep you from doing great things for Him because you’ve messed up in your life or because you’ve made mistakes. Everyone has issues, but that’s the amazing thing about Christ crucified and resurrected. He doesn’t see our works, He sees the work of Christ on the cross. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in and works through you today, so you don’t need to worry constantly about your mistakes and flaws. Do your best, forget the rest, and trust Jesus to accomplish what you can’t! |
Prayer
Lord, thank you that with you, nothing is impossible! I believe that the resurrection power of Jesus is working in and through my life today.
Reflection
How does the devil try to keep you from carrying out God’s call on your life? How can you overcome his attacks with Jesus’ truth?
