“It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.”
– Psalm 18:32
![]() Well, 2021 has gotten off to a bit of a rough start. As the COVID pandemic continues to rage and political strife runs rampant, it’s important to remember and consistently focus on the source of our strength. The events of this troubling time can be an energy drain since it seems as if everything is more difficult than it used to be. It’s easy to get bogged down and pulled under by the “bad news” of the day, but thankfully, Jesus offers us a much better alternative! In fact, the Bible says that He arms us with strength. That’s an interesting way of saying it because it infers that our spiritual toughness is a weapon, which further implies that our spirits are under attack. We are not our own worst enemies — Satan is, and he is constantly trying to rob our peace and steal our joy. Knowing this, it’s imperative to understand our need for God’s guidance to get us through uncertain times. Thankfully, He has given us an instruction manual that is full of hope-giving, life-transforming power, and it’s called the Bible. As we apply ourselves to its teaching, digest and memorize its promises, and let its words illuminate our path, we will be supplied with a supernatural invigoration that makes it clear how we should live in an increasingly dark and shadowy world. My friend, the power of Scripture is the key to abundant life! Though there is a battle raging for the serenity of your mind, there is a peace that surpasses understanding in Jesus, who is the Living Word. If ever there was a time to know and stand on the precious promises of God, it’s now. As confusion seeks to conquer your inheritance in your Savior, you can silence the voices of distraction by going to the Bible, which offers thousands of reasons to keep standing strong. Whatever you do this year, don’t forget to make His Word a priority, and trust Him to bring fresh revelation, vitality, and energy to your soul as you consistently hide His truth in your heart. |
Prayer
Jesus, teach me to love and desire your Word above everything else. May the promises of Scripture bear great fruit in my life.
Reflection
How can you dive deeper into the Bible this year?
