“If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load.”

-Galatians 6:3-5

You’re a terrific person. Yes, you might have flaws and different things but that is what is a big part of being a human being, right? We all have flaws and imperfections. I want to encourage you to stop acting and pretending. Take off your mask and allow others to love you just as you are. That’s very hard, isn’t it? It’s hard to stop pretending. All of us have a little bit of that. You have to, you can’t go into the world without a little bit of pretending. But most of us pretend too much. We only receive power from God when we let go of having to prove ourselves to others and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Not when we’re perfect, but when we simply have faith and believe.

PRAYER: Thank you, God, for loving me just as I am. I don’t have to prove myself to anyone. Help me believe that always.

REFLECTION: Are you currently wearing your mask?
