A Sanctuary

As the German philosopher and cultural critic Nietzsche said, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” While that may be true, what actually is trying to kill you certainly doesn’t help, right? Sometimes we feel worn down, yet none of us wants to be pushed to the point of breaking. That’s not healthy, either. Church isn’t meant to be a place of constant stress, rejection, or difficulty. What do we call the building where we gather? Some say it’s a church, but it’s actually called a sanctuary. A sanctuary is meant to be a place where we can truly take a break from it all.
