“For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.” – 2 Corinthians 8:12 When I was living with my family in Oklahoma in my teenage years, we really weren’t going to church a lot. We were all believers, but our spiritual life was kind of stagnant. Thankfully, there was an older couple named the Meechums who lived in the house behind ours. They were super-nice Christian people, and full of the Holy Spirit. My sister started going over there when she was 17, and simply by being in their presence, she caught a fire in her soul that was just amazing. We all befriended them, and before long, each of us was sharing in their passion and enjoying a newfound connection with Jesus. All of this simply because they welcomed us into their home, offered us

Help Isn’t Hurried

“In reply Jesus said: ‘A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. When I was fifteen, there was a guy who lived to the right of us who was a Christian, and he taught me to build things, to use tools, and even to locksmith. However, he warned me sternly not to go to the Meachum’s house, even though they lived right behind us. While they, too, were Christian people, they were pentecostal and were thus perceived by this

“For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.”  – 2 Corinthians 8:12 I want you to stop feeling like you have to do big things for God in order to have a big impact. You see, the really cool thing about being a Christian is that the Holy Spirit living within you multiplies whatever you do and brings His power to it. What He needs from you is simply availability.  When I moved with my Mom and family to Oklahoma during my teenage years, we weren’t really going to church a lot.
