“Look,” says the Teacher, “this is what I have discovered: “Adding one thing to another to discover the scheme of things—” – Ecclesiastes 7:27 During the age of discovery, we can look back and be amazed at how brave people were and how they were not afraid to take risks. From the 15th century to the 17th century, several European countries explored sea routes for trade, colonization, and cultural exchange between regions across the globe. Historically, we tend to think of Christopher Columbus, Amerigo Vespucci, and Ferdinand Magellan. As each of these explorers set out, we could agree they may not have had the best or most accurate plans, but they were great sailors focused on their mission.
