“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,” – Hebrews 12:1 Who is the great cloud of witnesses? This question makes many of us pause for a moment. In Hebrews Chapter 12, the author states, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses…” I used to think the great cloud of witnesses was like those picturesque medieval paintings, with the supernatural host of Heaven and angels flying around.
