Defining Bold Faith

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” – Proverbs 1:7 When I was a kid, I had a really good friend named Ian. As we were playing one day, he blurted out something that I’ll never forget. He said, “Bobby, you know what? My grandma is afraid of God.” I said “She’s what?” so he repeated, “She’s afraid of God.” At that time, I remember thinking “Why would somebody be afraid of God?”… and it stuck with me for years. However, as I grew older, I started to understand that the statement he made didn’t mean that his grandmother was terrified of the Lord, but rather that she revered and honored Him.
