Do Something for God

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” – 2 Corinthians 9:8 Many of us want to do something for God. Maybe you have a dream or purpose that God has put on your heart but you tell yourself, “I have more to learn, I have to be more qualified, I have to study more.” You say, “Bobby, I didn’t get a college degree.” Well, neither did Bill Gates. God’s goal — through the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ — is to remove shame, fear, pretending. He wants you to be belovedly you. He wants you to act like a loved child of God and to lean into your flaws and imperfections and say, in spite of all those things, I am going to work for God’s purpose to the redemption and the good work of his creation. Prayer Enable me, God, to embrace my flaws and to do good work for you. Reflection What are your imperfections?

God Gave You His Name

“Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” – Ephesians 5:7 Maybe today you feel powerless. You feel like you don’t have the ability to do any of the things God has called you to do. But you do. God has given you His name. The most powerful name there is. Carry it. In His name, do the will of God in everything you do. Prayer Thank you, God, for your name. I want to do your will. Reflection How can you carry God’s name, today?
